Think Blue Vol 1.
December 15, 2008 04:18 PM PST
It’s Cool, It’s Slick, It’s Blue Note Records! The benchmark label by which all others set their standards. OTV brings together a few of the finest sides from the mighty Blue Note catalog that may already be familiar to the experienced crate-digger but will no doubt be a delight to those entering a jazz discovery zone. OTV’s THINK BLUE is a hip, oft times swingin’ collection of instrumental and vocal gems primarily from the 60’s and 70’s catalog. We added a killer 1997 Charlie Hunter tune that was perfect for this set. Tracks include “The Moontrane” by Larry Young, “The Happy Medium” by Horace Silver, “Save The Children” by Marlena Shaw, “Nobody Knows” by Horace Silver, “Footprints” by Wayne Shorter, “Maiden Voyage” by Bobby Hutcherson, “Distant Land” by Donald Byrd, “Enter The Dragon” by Charlie Hunter, “Down Here On The Ground” by Grant Green feat. Dianne Reeves and “New York Times” by Bobbi Humphrey. |
